Jupiter the ruler of the gods, defeats the Titans and extends his power over all he surveys.
In our year of limitation and transformation that comes from Saturn and Pluto joining forces, Jupiter is showing up to make everything bigger. Bigger can mean success for those who honored limits and developed discipline. For those who weren’t listening, the warning and consequences will get bigger instead. The gap between the haves and have-nots easily grows with all this Capricorn energy. Some will have much more money, stability and resources when this year is done. That can sometimes look like the rich get richer, so focus on where you already feel wealthy and blessed because that’s the easiest area to grow bigger and seed your luck.
Jupiter is generous and greedy, a benevolent but ever-hungry emperor on his throne. Jupiter continues to spread his rule over new territory, constantly expanding his domain and bringing the Pax Romana or at least an ever-expanding powerful organization attempting to unite all under his control. Jupiter travels thru one sign each year. Last year it expanded it’s horizons learning new things in Sagittarius. Starting 2020 in the early degrees of Capricorn, it will travel back and forth until it enters Aquarius in late December. The more we honor the call to growth from Jupiter, the easier it will be to tolerate Pluto’s intense changes.
Pluto, Greek god of the Underworld, rules all energy that dies and rises back up. Pluto also knows all of the secrets that we’ve buried as well as what power is needed to bring life after death. Those buried secrets may cause power struggles as the demand for transformation is resisted by those who are comfortable with the old ways. Sadly this can mean the people in power are fighting to keep it and the masses get caught in the power struggle. While Pluto is a transpersonal planet that might be more involved with the government and world leaders, our own relationships may also experience drama as we are called to transform into better versions of ourselves. The better self will be a great celebration when we get done with the crash and burn that comes before we rise back up renewed.
Pluto takes just over 20 years to go through a sign partly because it spends almost half of every year going retrograde. This year Pluto travels only 2 degrees in Capricorn, although it will do it forward, backward and forward again.
In theory we should have had a break from this energy when Saturn moved into Aquarius leaving Pluto behind in Capricorn. However, with first Mars and now Jupiter joining Pluto, the pressure isn’t going to let up. Thankfully, we have Mars bringing us swift action and Jupiter bringing uu luck to keep things moving even if they aren’t very steady right now.
